Metro System

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Coming to the County
Greener and cleaner, a faster and more comfortable bus service is coming to Montgomery County with the Bus Rapid Transit. Service will start with a 13.5-mile project between Burtonsville and downtown Silver Spring, set to open in 2020. Other areas of future service include routes between Clarksburg and Bethesda, and Rockville and Wheaton. With more frequent service, dedicate lanes and green light priority signaling, BRT will be an excellent addition to Montgomery County’s public transportation options.
