MCEDC Will Focus on Support to Women and Diverse Entrepreneurs      

ROCKVILLE, Md. — As a program participant, the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) congratulated the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) on the competitive award of a $125,000 grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) under the Federal and State Technology (FAST) Partnership Program. Under the federal grant, MCEDC will support TEDCO in targeting diverse businesses with assistance to win government Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) seed capital. This important federal funding can be the initial life blood for Montgomery County technology companies, attracting additional venture capital investments,” said Benjamin H. Wu, President & CEO of MCEDC. “With TEDCO’s leadership, MCEDC will use our comprehensive database of local high-tech firms, including a unique list of SBIR applicants, to recruit Montgomery County women and minority entrepreneurs to participate in the sophisticated intensive proposal development workshops."
